Default Logitech G940 HOTAS

New option for HOTAS, modern "military" look, but with nice features to WWII sim, like dials for trim, dual throttle, extra rotaries...

Logitech... how many complaints have I read about their stuff.

I remember trying to remove Logitech drivers from my computer, a nightmare.

It would take an act of Congress to get me to buy anything Logitech now.

Maybe, they break the mold from their past stuff. Probably not the case, so wait and see would be my suggestion.

My CHProducts fighterstick, pro pedals and prothrottle is a combination hard to beat.

The split throttle might be an improvement for some dual engine jet jocks.

Without actually seeing and feeling one it's hard to be too critical.

I like the idea of being able to bolt the thing down. I also like the big red fire switch on the top. (One of the things I miss going from a CH Combat Sick to Fighter Stick- fighter stick has too may dual way switches for my liking) It looks solid enough and without too many fancy bits that get in the way.

I don't like the positioning of the trim wheels. With a stand alone joystick you may not have may option but I think this is going to be used as a side stick in most cases (As shown on the video) so to trim you have to take your left hand from the throttle and move it right accross your body. Poor ergonomics imo. IF I was making it I would have put them over near the throttle section so you don't have to move your hand as much.

Agree with you Nearmiss in general about logitech in the past, pretty shoddy. But in fairness lets wait and see. Skoshi, not a fan of the trim positioning either, and I'm not too keen on the rudders they have too.....like more width with the Saitek pedals personally.

Who knows though, might be a world beater.....Its looking good, out in September yes? I like the fact it uses the FFB effects of the Microsoft FFB2.....big plus point (by 'Immersion' if I remember right ). We'll see better after some reviews.

Anyone know if they intend to market HOTAS and rudders separately? Having to get them all as a package would be a deal breaker for me.

PS whats with that bar in the middle of the rudders??? I play in my wooly socks usually, lol!!!! OUCH!!! Hahaha.

Well, it's just a prototype now, but it does look promising.

Hopefully Logitech can meet our high expectations and deliver a software meeting the features of the new HOTAS. I personally don't really like the fact that you even have to get their rudders, though. It should be optional IMHO.

The split-throttle with that close to realistic layout would be great for DCS' A10C.

Sweet!

It really looks promising. I'm one of those guys that really like the added immersion that force feeedback gives me... Have been wearing my MS FFB2 down for many years without any alteranatives. Bought a Cyborg Evo Force when it hit the market - but I gave it to a friend after using it for a week and went back to the FFB2... Have looked at the X52 etc but I really want the FF effects so this is definately something that I have been waiting for - a serious FFB joystick. Lets just hope that it has "it". I really didn't like Logitech back in the days when all their gear felt cheap, but lately they have shaped up - I really love my G5 mouse and G15 keyboard (and Harmony remote)...

About Flapp'n time some one brought out a FFB HOTAS set.

At least the stick uses hall-sensors, so I guess that won't be the problem with this release
