I bought my copy from GoGamer.com (USA), where it is listed as an import (I) published by Aspyr, with the box picture from 505 Games. My box does NOT show Aspyr or 505 logos, only Best Way and 1C on the front, and Best Way, 1C, Miles, and DMS on the back.
None of the downloadable retail patches work for me. Both of the 505 versions and the 1C Asia-Pacific tell me I have a different version, and the Aspyr version crashes with a runtime error (unknown custom message name).
I already wrote 1C a support email, because I had no idea their patch wasn't out, and I thought the crashing Aspyr patch was my problem.
If the 1C published version has no patch yet, the
www.menofwargame.com/updates.phtml page should just say so. Likewise for Direct2Drive and Steam players. It is a huge pain to spend all day trying to patch your game when the proper version is not yet released!
Please consider following Stardock's lead and releasing DRM-free games, so your paying customers can avoid this mess. The pirates are already playing anyway, and you can directly provide automatic updates only to customers logged in with their cd-key.
