Smoke shadows not in correct place.

I'm running 4.12.1 with an NVidia 7950GT.

Often, when a plane is smoking I notice that the shadow of the smoke jumps around and does not connect with the shadow of the plane. Usually it is ahead or behind, or possibly above or below.

Any thoughts?
