Spitfire L1021 XT-M (603 Sqn.) flown by Flt.Off Richard Hillary.
Plt Off. Peter Pease in X4277 XT-B.

R.Hillary shot down in flames in X4277 XT-M 3.9.1940,baled out with grievous burns.
P.Pease shot down in combat 15.9.1940.

Super images Larry

Pease was a friend of Hillary, if my memory is correct? Pease was shot down attacking German bombers. There was a 109 shooting at him from behind, but he continued his attack on the bombers until he was killed.

A very good book on this subject is 'The Most Dangerous Enemy'.
