Is there any news so far on possible fixes?
I know my vid card supports shader 2.0 and directx 9.0c, but I still crash out immediately after the loading screen (after I go through door).

Geforce 3 series:
D3D 8.0, Pixel Shader 1.1, Vertex Shader 1.1.

Not even DX8.1 or shader model2 supported in GF3-cards, just too old hardware. (Newest ATI-cards for example support DX10.1 and shader model 4.0).

Yep...I know Thanks. This Geforce 3 card was just one old backup card I had at hand when my good old Geforce 6600GT stopped working a few months ago.

I am getting a (used) more up-to-date card in a couple of days.
Thanks for all info.

Any update on the 'crash after entering portal' bug? I'd really like to pick the game up this week, but I'm afraid the same problem will be in the retail version.
