Letter E (in morse code ".") means that you are 0-30 deg from the carrier which means that you have to fly on bearing 180-210 to meet the carrier. Letter R (in morse code "._.") means that you are 30-60 deg from the carrier which means that you have to fly on bearing 210-240 to meet the carrier. Letter I (in morse code "..") means that you are 60-90 deg from the carrier which means that you have to fly on bearing 240-270 to meet the carrier. Letter T (in morse code "_") means that you are 90-120 deg from the carrier which means that you have to fly on bearing 270-300 to meet the carrier. and so on, full 360 deg divided to 12 pieces.
