Options to speed up combat?

Hi all,

Just got the demo and loved it. Brings back memories of HOMM 2 (before the whole 'your hero fights 2 thing').

One thing that did bother me a bit is that after a while I didn't care as much about some of the battles, but I can't find a way to speed things up. Auto combat helps so I can step away, but is there a way/will there be a way in the full game to increase the speed of the automation in the battles so they don't take so long?
