So far we've got blind landing and navigation, changed night darkness, 4.12 will bring slanted weapons on the Ki-45 and bombers have been added in previous patches and more will be in 4.12...

Yep. I think that there's a very good reason why DT hasn't yet released airborne radar and planes like the Lancaster.
Turning IL2 into a game which can realistically handle strategic high-altitude night bombing operations on the Western Front from its origins as a simulator for tactical low level daylight attack missions on the Eastern Front is quite a stretch! But, in 4.12 we get the Wellington and the Ki-45, which will allow realistic "wild sau" nightfighter operations for both the ETO and PTO.* *Except of course, for the absence of ground-controlled intercept - but that can be faked. |

I do believe Ian Boys released a mission for the Bf-110 in which FoW settings simulate the contact updates. It's very challenging and rewarding!
