Sorry, my fault, you should press "ok", and the game will start automaticaly (I've checked a minute ago).

I looked at the task manager and the process kb.exe closes quickly after I pressed "ok".

Yeah, looks like it will. The Russian version came with Starforce, and I see to some extent it's also present in the demo (which is common, so pirates couldn't crack the real thing based on demo executable). It's no big deal though, as it takes a single click to remove the Starforce drivers if they cause any trouble, and no need to reboot or anything. And in the latest patch of the Russian version they removed copy protection altogether.
