Default Gunnery/Sights question

I haven't been playing IL2 quite as much as I used to and my gunnery has suffered dramatically. I used to be able to just eyeball any shot basically but now coming back to it I would like to be using the gunsight to its fullest potential. I've read some that the different lines represent angle-off of your target (for example outer ring on 109 gunsight is 20 degrees I believe) but just wondered if anyone has more concrete info on how to use the sight properly.

Thanks!

Thanks guys. I also dug this up from a simhq article:

http://www.darts-page.com/files/gunnery02.htm

Question though, are the 190, 109, tempest and P-51 main circles 20 degrees also or less? They look smaller, but maybe that's an optical illusion.

And the hash marks on the 190, are they 5 degrees each or 10?

With range icon set ON, get behind a 10 meter wingspan plane to where the wings are as wide as the circle and note are you 100 meters away? Everything else works from there.

Try Sniper's Corner: http://www.mission4today.com/index.p...kid=296&page=1. It's an interactive Excel sheet that shows you how this game's planes look through various gunsights at different distances and angles.

Exactly what I needed, thanks!

Question though, which one is the 190D? I don't see it.

It's the LW (LuftWaffe) Revi "partial" gunsight. I believe 109s have the bigger, "full" Revi gunsight.
