Fast computer with good price.

Im talking about good computer with good price... for now the Dual core like E-8600 is the best option for gamers, I test a Q-6600 (quadcore) and i dont recomend, too bad!
DDR3 memory are green yet, the good ddr3 too expensive, i sugest a good ddr21066 Corsair, good quality level.

Yes E8600 is better, it has E0 stepping (clocks better)...but much more expensive. The new E8400 E8500 have E0 stepping too.

DDR3 very expensive, like you say PC8500 1066 DDR2 is perfect. Corsair Dominator and OCZ Reaper are supposed to be very good.

I'm looking to but a new rig soon and i see no reason for quadcore, i'm going for an E8400 3.6-4Ghz on one core for just one game must be good enough...most games can only use one core so the fastest and most expensive nehalem will be 400-800mhz slower than the E8400. Or am i missing something?...

As you say - maybe the Nehalems will not be the optimal gaming stuff. In my gaming rig I have an E8400 too, running at 3.6 Ghz with air cooling. No problems at all (55 degrees at full load). A game like IL2 is for sure not going to benefit from a Quad (or even a dual), and the day that a game really makes good use of four cores is yet to come. What I'm intesested in is how much you can clock those Nehalems. If they do, they may be interesting... And lets face it, it's allways fun having the latest stuff

Intel Nehalem is expected to be released sometime in Q4 of 2008. Nehalem will be manufactured using the same 45 nm methods used for Penryn, but it will require a new socket called LGA1366. MB's will be X58
So much for your old 775 socket MB's...

Following the Nehalem's will be the 8 core Havendales in 4QTR 2009.

3.6Ghz on air and only 55 at load, sounds perfect to me! Are you using stock cooling?
How did you clock it? (so i can copy ) What ram memory are you using?
