Spitfire on my tail-part2
This campaign continues from part1 and covers the 'tail end' of the Battle of Britain from the end of September through October from the viewpoint of 3/JG52.
This campaign is 31 missions long, with the weather playing an increasing part as autumn arrives (cloud free versions of all missions are available as an option) and you will be flying the 109E4 leading your Staffel high above Kent against an increasingly efficient RAF. There are also large numbers of planes in some missions (over 160 !) and clouds are used heavily in a couple of missions so a fairly good rig is required and you may need to rethink graphics settings FEATURES As realistic as possible numbers of aircraft AAA positions are 'roughly historical'- the numbers and locations are approximately correct as far as i can get information on this. (if you have any spare ammo feel free to shoot them up) Coquelles airfield is as near as i can get to the layout with the objects available.- just these 2 features mean there are ~ 2800 static objects on the map for every mission. Skins are a reasonable approximation of the style of camoflage/ unit markings used by 3/JG 52. There is a change in skins at a couple point in the campaign. This is indicated in the briefings. The distinctive wing tips are rather useful in identifying your own Staffel in/ after combat. Skins are Capt Farrel, (butchered by me) and are included with his kind permission. Route map and 'tactics board' for each mission, waypoint and timing information, weather information I've tried to match units involved as best i could to historical records (if you have better info- let me know ) AI is 'tamed' as much as possible and there is variation in skill levels for individual a/c- watch out for the odd 'ace'! Trains and vehicle convoys on both sides of the channel (nice targets, if you find one on the way home) Vehicle movements around airfield and surrounding area Clouds and wind modeled Cloud free mission option There is also a somewhat extensive readme with installation instructions, hints on how to get the most out of CoD etc. Download from Airwarfare http://airwarfare.com/sow/index.php/...-my-tail-part2 Enjoy |

I've enjoyed first few missions of Spit on My Tail Part 1.
I have manually installed SOMT Part 2, following Readme Install instructions carefully... I don't see SOMT Part 2 in the in-game Campaign selection list. I double checked, and confirmed, that I had properly installed it. Will Part 2 automatically "execute" when the last mission (#40) of Part 1 ends, or should it be showing in the Campaign list right now?? |

That was it. I had put in the [Main] section:
spitfire on my tail part2 Although I had looked at the line many times while troubleshooting, my brain simply didn't "see" the missing hyphens! I corrected to: spitfire-on-my-tail-part2 and now, of course, it shows in the Campaign list in-game. Thanks very much for the help! S! |
