can we give devellopers a second chance with BOM ?

I was taken by this sim from the first moment of sitting in a cockpit. The sense of realism was stunning for me. Perfomance on my machine was always better than or on par with IL2 1946. COD never disappointed me. The downside for me is that the group of buddies I fly with could never get past all the negative chatter. Some bought it and were unhappy. It didn't work as well for them. Some just wouldn't spend the money on what was, in other folks' words, an unfinished product. What a personal loss it is to me that it couldn't be accepted!

So, I won't be buying BOM. I"m quite certain none of my group will. It is possible, in my mind, that it might well be shunned by many simmers in the western world. The narrow focus on the Battle of Moscow takes away many aircraft of the WW2 era and could limit interest. My hope is that fans of the genre will rally and keep it going.

I wish the best to all of you here and will keep my eyes and ears open for future developments. I'm pretty old, 72 years, but hope to last long enough to see what happens after BOM. The entire sim world seems to be in a state of reduced activity and has been in decline for years. There just may not be enough money left to make from flight sims in general to keep development going much longer. I do so hope I'm wrong.

COD is a very impressive flight sim game to me as well, I must say ; I wish you all the best & that -using your words - you 'll "last long enough" to see far more than any sequels of COD. All the best !

This is exactly what happened to 56RAF, one of the strongest Squads in IL-2 '46 on-line. We have been able to rebuild the Squad to some extent from those of us impressed by the core potential and determined to see how it worked out plus new hands including some who have never been in on-line combat before and find it a fantastic experience. The problem with us old hands is we already had a great sim and looked forward to the next generation sim. In many ways it is next generation, just not working as well as it could, and I hope BoM will move it much further forward.

All possibly true but I'll probably buy BoM because sales will be essential if it is to keep going. I may wait for this community's initial reviews though.

In which case CoD/BoM/SoW may be the last we get so we have to hope it will be improved. Of course future computer programming technology may make it easier to produce Flight Sims. Who knows?

theres no 2nd chance for me i had to wait till now but since the steam patch the game is really fun, so the didnt disapoint me, though i dont understand the appeal people find in full real servers flying for hours with no contacts

i miss more people on airquake late at night in gmt, seems european prefer airquake while americans go for full real
