Septic.
Its quite possible, but I think they know there are too many gameplay issues yet to address, to make the sale of the Sequel successful. That said financial pressures may force them to release another unfinished product, with the hope they can fix these problems more quickly than COD's performance issues. It should be quicker as the gameplay issues should not require any huge rewrites, like the graphic engine rewrite required.

Well realistically if they get COD functioning, then BOM should just be a matter of plugging in the parts (models, landscape, missions, etc) to an already functioning game, essentially an add-on. All bets are off of course if they decide to expand on what the game is (ie MMO style)

The justification in pricing might be tricky as well, do they charge full game price if its just a new location with new planes and such? Guess it all depends on their plans for it... we will have to wait and see.

Yes, the key again is getting the game engine functioning. Once thats completed adding new theaters is a matter of adding maps, aircraft, and campaigns. Any new fixes and features will apply to any past theaters when the sims are merged. MMO's are easy as you already have all the content from COD and any other theaters you've built.

I doubt the pricing will change, considering the millions of dollars they spent, and are still spending getting the game engine to work. I doubt the sales of COD even come close to covering those costs, and the Sequel probably won't either. The key to any success is the sale of a number of Sequels, MMO's, and contracting out the game engine.

I disagee.

In my opinion the best flight sim is still Microsoft Flightsimulator X.
The best combat sims are still Falcon4/EECH on a shared first place.
IL-2 1946 in the HSFX+SEOW are a close second.
Cliffs of Dover are the best WWII dogfight sim.
DCS makes nice study sims but like COD it lacks space and diversity, although it is way better when it comes to playability and finish.

Should I chose one between all of them, HSFX+SEOW / EECH will be on a shared first place.

Don't get me wrong. I like the fidelity and dogfights after the introduction of the 1.08 beta patch. But I feel no immersion. I feel no pressure. I don't get the adrenaline rush in the final stages of my stalking as in IL-2 or EECH.

I don't really know why
Maybe it is the lack of purpose and lack of limits on aircrafts.....

What do you mean by lack of limits on the aircraft?

Septic.
They have so much to fix I don't see how this would be. Netcode is a big one.

Thumbs up

Don't write off 1C as a company with no direction or financial capacity. They have other very profitable products, especially business and financial software.

Most of the basics for further development are in place to build several more sequels to COD. So, don't expect the worst.

I am not saying this because I have inside information. I don't.

I just know how much effort and money has gone into the development of what you enjoy right now. It isn't prudent business to dump all that quality of work and content. 1C will find their way to preserve and produce the sequels.

Previous rumors on ATAG or German UBI forums suggested that Ilya is starting work on Korea project on some different engine.

It is good for luthier to stay busy, I hope he brings something to the market
