The added bonus today is that we can see for ourselves when ever we want.

I agree...leaving aside the obvious grievances of the unfinished state of the sim....I'm sure most of us would prefer beta testing to waiting for periodic screenshots, and I'm sure most of us would prefer paying for that opportunity than see the sim cancelled.

That said due to the extreme amount of time its taking to optimize and finish COD, the series could be cancelled any day if this critical beta performance patch isn't successful.

I loved those old cockpits. And I also thought the older trees looked better when grouped.

OMG! Just look at those spit shots, "grab0117.jpg" for example. Why oh! oh why! can someone once more remind me why the "factory fresh" planes were removed and replaced by the "sand-blasted" planes?! It's almost like I'd like to go back to the earliest versions of the game and take screenshots of unmolested planes.

WIP....we should see those features and more come back as the series progresses. Its far more important to have a sim playable than a pretty unplayable sim. I often wondered how they were going to get all the WIP features being developed into a playable sim, but Oleg said himself many years ago that features would be added and subtracted as sim resources allowed. The series will either be canceled or be a very long project, so that by the time the last Sequels are released COD will have had many new features added by the developer, third party payware, and community modders.
