looks like you already know the answer to the question you asked. a repair technician is not an engineer. by the time i was 21 i already had a hundred hours repairing my own motorcycle and cars, it seemed like such a basic thing to do in those days. maybe in your country or in your generation it's considered strange? my dad was a machinist and expert with hand tools so he had an influence. did all my own servicing on my 911 for 6 years with only common tools worth less than a couple $100.
