I won't touch it unless it CTD's often and randomly, that's for sure!

Beaufort, Whirlwind... If they can hit the bar set by Il-2 at least, they will get some business from me. The development team do not seem hopelessly disorganised and they appear to be making solid progress.

Thumbs up

I have boxes full of old air combat flight sims and there are only a few that every put together anything worth the effort play them. The list of flyable aircraft in the starter post of this thread is not that impresseive, look at the aircraft available and in progress with IL2.

Don't sell yourself short. I would suggest before you waste your money, go back to IL2 Sturmovik with mods and the Diadalos Teams mods. You may get a shock to your system. It's improved significantly. The war theatre possibilities are huge, awesome map additions, the aircraft selection is huge, the AI is improved, the sound is awesome, etc. The online game is still there as well.

The cost of producing an air combat flight sim genre of game is huge. COD is still in progress and there are some very dedicated people working on it. Look at the kinds of changes and improvements that keep coming at us. I mean the COD is extremely complicated application and it is only on one map.

If you have the money and time to spend trying things go for it. I did... that is why I have boxes full of air combat sim games that I haven't installed on my system in years... LOL

Gosh, that sounds bad when I say it... "I haven't installed on my system in years". The years part really gets me.

it will be a free2play title MMO. At least in its general features one can test it without 'wasting' money.

IMO it will be a nice and well put together game but the most expensive air-combat game in history. I spent about USD 350+ playing WOT back in 2010 during about 6 months while waiting for CLoD.

This one will be more expensive it seems. The only way to limit expenditure by USD10 - 15 per month is to relax, stick to planes of tier 3-4 and not care about higher levels completely.

I recently intalled '46 and never had a problem. What error do you get? There are also some manual tweaks, but it runs beautifully
