What did they do so wrong as to make many of us forget how good this sim is?

What is the atmosphere they have created around this sim that the whole thing seems porked when it is not?

The lack of a realistic horizon or deadline to get what 1C and Oleg Maddox made us dream of?

Looks good, but if you value function over form.there are better options out there.

In my view, nothing at all. In my view the community itself is responsible for the current 'negative vibe'.

The community demanded patches to resolve various issues, the developers released two 'alpha/beta' patches to test, which the community members who post on this forum and elsewhere have seemed to regard as official releases. They aren't.

The game/sim which produced those videos in the OP's post is still there.

Just roll back to the last official version and start making movies.

That bug was fixed time ago, somewhere in 2011, that makes me wonder even if you have the game.

In that case, the last update which was supposed to fix issues is 9 months old, so the devs didn't fix anything in 9 months, if we ignore the alpha/beta patches.

That would probably look worse than considering the latest alpha and beta patches as "official" (are they even unofficial?) releases.

This sim is good and probably even worth its money (i think i bought it for 25 EUR or so). Posting screenshots and videos (specially recorded, because they wouldn't look smooth if you would record them in real time) of it and then saying it's great is kind of like wearing very pink glasses here, because that doesn't mean that the sim IS great. It just looks great, aslong as you visit forums and watch screenshots and videos. But as soon as you boot it up, it's not great anymore.

I'm convinced that this sim will be great in a few months or years, but it certainly has not reached that level yet.

COD is the best unfinished sim I've ever played. . You have too expect a number of features, and optimizations not to work with an unfinished sim. Atleast the devs are still working and the beancounters are still supporting the sim. That said their days must be numbered unless something good happens soon with the code optimizations.

Really, Dutch? I do respect you and most of the posters in this forum, but, please, do me a tiny favour: step out the melée, walk away for a few seconds just to get a good perspective, look around and back in time and tell me, from that privileged point of view: who did start the fire?.

From my heart and for what I have realised till now, the very initial match wasn't ignited on the 'payers' side. Was it?
