I'll bite.

So you downloaded the game freshly from steam and then applied the beta patch, yes?
Your computer also has the latest drivers, microsoft net framework 4.0 and direct X runtimes?

What settings do you use? SSOA deactivated? Epilespy filter off?

Did you check your Nvidia panel settings for this game? Maybe something is off in there?

For what it's worth, the game has been running on my PC very well for the last couple patches, even before on my old computer as long as I had shadows deactivated. Should not be a hardware problem, but a software conflict could be the cause.
