Humm I´m thinking some posibilities...

1.- Pilot is "sniffing" something over the controls panel...

or
2.- Pilot is a "little man", and cant look trough the canopy... or
3.- Pilot bailed out just on takeoff!!!

4.- Pilot is there, you need to look closer

Some yes but mostly other work than aeroplanes.
