Default Bigger "packages"

I would like to be able to build larger groups in missions but haven't been able to figure out how. A group is limited to a maximum of nine aircrafts it seems but a I examine the scripted group objects there's some hints that groups can somehow be linked to other groups.

Does anyone have any intel on this? Is there a way to link groups together into larger packages or am I left to create individual groups and just set their waypoints so that they fly close to each other, hoping they'll behave as they're on the same mission?

The easiest way is to use Stuka as Group, there is a bug so you can use 24 Planes in a Group (3*8 ) instead of nine.

That's fine if I need a large group of Stukas of course but can I somehow exploit that bug to create a large He-111 group as well?

Also, is there a way to make a group follow another? Fighters, for example, can "escort" (waypoint task) another group but can a bomber group be made to follow another bomber group and duplicate its behavior (like area bombing at the same WP)? If I can do that I don't really need individual groups to be bigger.

You can select a He111 as type and then Stuka in Airgroup options. So you can get 24 He111.
There is the follow command but its tricky to get it to work properly, better set Waypoints independent.
