Make sure you defragged the game files, e.g. with Gamebooster. (Do not defrag if you use SSD.)
Overclocking CPU to 3.5+ GHz may also help. Check if reducing texture quality makes any difference. |

I'd love to hear from a 580 owner as well, just to put my mind at ease... |

I'm playing the game with gtx680SLI and a i2500k at 4.3ghz. I'm having the same texture load at the beginning of the Black Death track. Same thing when I start a quick mission. After that the game runs ok so it's not your card. It's the programming.

I have it too on my GTX580... Some thread sync issue... Not much of a problem...

Slightly older 9650@ 3.7ghz 8 Gigs Ram and a Stock EVGA 580GTX and I have the same problem. Its the game not the card. My rig can run ANYTHING very well at 1920X1200.
It will be a while before your 580 is too old to run. It's a very good card. |

S!
This texture load thing came with the beta. They have redesigned some things in graphics engine. Run Black Death a couple times and it is fine except that Blenheim on ground, it never gets the sharp textures, before it did. But I bet things like this are fixed in the final patch. |

Loading of textures was a declared issue of this alpha patch. Also, the Black Death track is done with an old version of the game, and this could cause troubles. IMO your card is fine. In doubt, roll back to the previous stable version and test again.
