First you have 3 channel memory controler, and you have 4 GB of RAM.
Is it 2x2 GB or 4x1 GB ? In any case you are losing something, more in the first case , and for second case I'm not shure, haven't played with i7.
But in any case proper setup for this platform is 3x(what you can afford) GB of RAM.

Second. It is true when you overclock i7 930 you have to raise your base clock, and that will raise RAM frequency also, but you have thing called memory divider ( if it is at least midrange board) in your BIOS settings.

Overclock is not bad by the way.
I stand corrected because I have just run Dxdiag and found that I do have 6 gig of Ram. I have 3x2 sticks so except my apologies for the slight misunderstanding.

Oops missed that! Thats why its good to put your system specs in your sig!
3x2GB should be OK, next upgrade would be 3x4GB. You would be looking at around £90 to double your ram to 12Gb currently.
