No, your post was far far worse than anyone else bongo, i saw it before it was deleted. I wonder if you would make such a post if a member of your family suffered such a illness, take the mick out of sick children do you, or maybe people with cancer?

I also agree Fruitbat. Had a similar argument with a subordinate of mine at work. My method is to ask nicely, trying to build a rapport. His is to annoy the beegeezers out of someone until they conform. His does work but burns the bridge. Mine takes longer but keeps the bridge open for next time. I don't think it's a maturity issue.
