Ignore mods. You can fly on a lot of servers without them. Generally those who fly IL2 straight up are the most adult and tend to be simmers more than gamers anyway....

I cannot speak for single mods, but modpacks usually improve the game. Compare the Italy map of the game (Sicilia linked with the rest .... ![]() |

The Italy online map in the stock game is a dogfight map. Dogfight maps are there just for fun, not for geographic accuracy. It's supposed to give you a Mediterranean feel, nothing else. Certainly better than another 50x50 square with green meadows.
