I can just see the last minute hitch now. Someone walked into the office carrying a fish and just happened to stumble and knock out one of the programmers with a fish to the head. He's laid up for a week so the beta will begin next week.

Developers. Do not release a patch that has not gone though a proper quality test and passed. You do so at your own detriment to your reputation as a developer, a company, as a project manager - it all hinges on this being done right and not because of post in a random forum. This is your livelihood and your careers we're talking about. Jobs jobs jobs. Do not do it until it is ready. Do NOT release it before it is 100% tested and complete.

Another note. Do not even hit that it will be released unless you have for sure a release forthcoming. Just state there is no patch and when it will be has not been discussed with you.

Well, personally I am sad when I visit these forums because one of my favorite members was recently banned.

He was always stirring the pot with his controversial posts, and the resultant drama was highly entertaining, even if I usually didn't agree with him.

(Is that you?)
