Cliffs of Dover only. Once the patch is completed and released you can start reading the last rights to the old one.

I'll definitely get back to CloD when the new patch comes out. For now, the Steam account is seeing really little action.

Its a bit like the wife really, I don't play with it much any more but I don't have the heart to get rid of it.

I can see a lot of people who have uninstalled it having to put it back on if CoD isn't fixed. There is only so much spinning round in a 109 or Hurri that you can do. IL2 has the benefit of years of development behind it and all the diversity that comes with that.

For online its RoF for me but thats mainly down to my squad. We don't fly CoD, its either RoF or IL2.

Honestly, While I own both, I flew IL-2 COD for about a week after it was first released. Loved the graphics, couldn't stand the lack of a dynamic campaign. I haven't flown it since. 3 months later I uninstalled it from my computer and while I keep touch with where the game is currently, I"m probably not going to give it another shot till there is some kind of Dynamic Campaign.

My squad and I fly a DCG co-op campaign in IL-2 1946, modded with the Ultra Pack 2.01, and are looking to possibly transition to Dark Blue World soonish. The important thing to me is a customizable dynamic campaign. When I can get that in IL-2 COD, I'll look to have us make the move to that, and probably not before.

If they deliver on the patch and the fame rate is increased there will be no tearing me away from cod. IL-2 graphics to dated for me and COD feels like I'm flying through sticky toffee. I don't play either, but the patch might change that.

I fly CloD exclusively since...well I'm not sure actually. With that said, I don't think just a performance patch will make CloD surpass 1946, you are forgetting all of the content and working functionality in 1946, I think that is what is holding back players and squads more than anything. It's just a theory.

ROTFL!

As you say, as well as the obvious performance/ bug fixes, COD definitely needs more content, Maps planes, land/sea objects and vehicles.

Hey! Maybe we can convince them to make a Eastern Front sim! That would be cool!

It all changes when you get to play missions. When tactics and big formations come into play, things become all the more interesting. A Hurri can cause carnage among both 109 and Ju88/87, it just needs its historical background, like starting at altitude, being guided by radar, having Spitfire squads patrolling the sky nearby. Just like the Me110 which is quite sluggish, but can be used to staggering effects once it is placed in the right circumstances.

CloD just doesn`t have MP functionality. Get me 5 types of patrolling/escorting/bomber busting missions over the La Manche and I`ll fly them 100 times just like I did over Smolensk.

- 1946 with HSFX for SEOW and other online wars with my squad (6S)
- 1946 with UP3 with my squad mates to have some quick fun in DF servers such as Zeke or Spit
- CloD, mostly alone, because only a couple of squad mates can/want play with it.

The problems retaining my squad mates from passing to CloD are mainly:

1. defective FMs (stall, dynamic stall, ceilings, G limits)
2. lack of multiplayer content (call it coop or whatever)
3. low performances even with good machines = low settings needed

Cheers,
Ins
