Default GPU or CPU?

What will CoD most benefit from when it comes to Performance,A Great Graphics Card? Or a Fast Powerful Multi CPU Proccessor?

this depends from what you are upgrading

ijsut went from a quad core with 2.6 to a i5 2500k ( with a ram upgrade too! ) - and i didnt gain any graphcial performance, but stuttering lowered a lot ( still, the games stutter, )

i also tested my old quad core wit ha 560 TI, and toug h icould play the graphcis really high, i still had a LOT of stutters.

with the complete setup 560Ti + 2500k, i tested, about the same graphcial performance as the 2md setup, but with the stutters from the first.

so TLDR, processor will reduce stuttering, GPU will give eye candy.

Interesting,Can you tell me what your i5 2500k was Clocked at? I'm thinking of upgrading to a i7 2600k. Right now I'm running a Quad core 9650@4.1 GHz, 8gig DDR2 Ram and a GTX580.

The only time I get really bad stutters is when flying tree top level,to compensate I turn off Grass and turn down Shading.I can't live without Cockpit Shadows

First of all I think everything will change with the new patch that will be ready in two weeks be sure
Afer quit some thinkering I've got the current incarnation running stutter free on my rig see sig.
I'm clocking the CPU to 4500 Mhz and the VGA card to 900.
But using the ram drive helps the most see this thread.
http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=20228
Then n CPU's after reading thishttp://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...lock,3106.html on toms hardware I decided that the 2500K was the most bang for the buck.
But a rig is mostly a balancing act where the scale tips depending on what you want to do with it.
Hopes this helps.

stock.

to be hoenst, if i had your pc i wouldn't care for an upgrade. please note, my upgrade was from a 4-5 year old system. yours is what? 1 year old? i advise you to not buy anything until new GPUs come out ( SOON nvidea and ATI will come up with new stuff, the 7870 660, 670. 680), and the new i5 series, who will feature pci3 support. Also, waiting fore the performance patch!, if a system like yours cant top the game after a performance patch, im out.

Thank You for the replies and Niels thank you for the links,pupo162 my system is over 4yrs old,The GTX580 is only about a yr old.I hear the 2600k is a fantastic CPU and very easy to OC.

I think you're right though,I'll wait for the patch and see if that will cure my stutters.
Cheers!
