Nope. Still doesn't work. I tried moving them....nudging them....praying for them to Snap....nothing.

Can't be ... can it? We're using the same software, so it should work for both of us.

Do you have anything that sets your installation apart from a vanilla one?

Just to make sure, that's what I do:
- start the game
- go into FMB
- open a map
- zoom in
- click on snap in the scrolldown menu -> a little pop up pops up
- set hook at enable snap
- select a light object from the stationary objects
- insert it
- left klick and drag it -> it moves along the grid in steps as big as I set in the pop up, it "snaps"
- insert another one, drag it, snaps too, easy way to form a line with all objects at the same distance

How can this not be working?

Nope. Nothing happens. No snapping here. I can select and move those lights all I want....they won't snap anywhere.

It must work. If you have followed all of the JtD's it should work. Snap distance is in meters so you might not notice the snap unless you don't zoom in enough.

Important is to know that with zooming I don't mean going into 3d view, snap works in 2d only.

Try to move the object, then it will snap. The same goes for multi object selection.
When you just insert the object, it doesn't snap.

Ok I have it working now, I had to load a blank map for some reason I wasn't able to edit them into a GoF map I'm currently using.

Sorry, but I can't get it to work. See the screenshots. What am I doing wrong?

I am trying in both 2D and 3D. Neither works. I have 3 lights placed on a blank map. I click on any one and move it, but it does not snap anywhere.....it just moves to where I place it and then stays there. NO SNAP......LOL

(Is this a joke???)

You need to zoom more, your snap distance is just 10 meters and in your current zoom level one squre is 1km so you can't see 10m movement from there.

Aviar
Try this in the snap step distance box 100.0

The object only snaps to a grid intersection so its no use wanting to use it for runways.

If TD wouldn't mind giving us the ability to raise/lower group objects that would be be the best option.

Cheers.
