The Mig 3's demise had a lot more to do with Uncle Joe and politial cronieism than demand for engines in other airframes.

Be sure.

IL2:1946 with the textures and DM of CloD.

I'd never play another game

Your going to have much more than that, but its going to take atleast another ten+plus years of free patches, paid addons, and community mods.

BOB was a good place to start as its a relatively small map, in a well known theater, early in the war. I had hoped the Med would be next, but it appears it will be BfM, along with patches for the unfinished BOB.

I originally assumed that the BfM was a third party addon as it has been in the works long before the release of COD. Because of the problems developing COD, and dropping the Korean addon to bring in Luthiers team to help finish COD, they may have also combined the BfM team aswell. With the work still required to finish BOB they definitely need a quick influx of cash from a sequel as soon as possible.

If the game engine is completed, working well, and vastly improves COD and the sequel, then the development should be well on their way to many years of addons. The work they are doing now and the support they recieve is critical, or they will fold.

If they succeed we should see.
A number of theaters maps including necessary aircraft.
I can see a Malta map, including Sicily, and the Coast of Tunisa/Libya.
A few more Eastern Front Maps
More than a few Pacific Island maps
A large Western Front Bombing Campaign map if furture average computer are strong enough for a large detailed map with many cities.

We will also see some third party maps and aircraft including.
French and Polish Campaigns were in the works many years ago and could be revived.
Other small theater maps along with fantasy island maps

Eventually because the game engine was developed to include control of tanks, ships etc we could see a World Wide Combined Forces Map, or smaller combined forces maps depending the capability of future computers.

if the series survives it will eventually be far greater and more detailed than anything we've seen from IL-1946 mods included.
