When i last heard lou reed live with the original Velvet underground line up it was incredible. The VU in there artistic wizdom had a fascination with winding people up taking them away from there comfort zone, frustrating them to the point of utter anxiousness then they would bring it back. quite a cruel expereince seeing them live. and possibly alot to do with Andy Warhol !!! but an expereince that had to be had at the same time for the sake of the musical arts. This is why this Loutallica thing actually works. Given the Fact the the VU is no more and never will be anything anymore the insight behind reviving something as awkward as what the VU did could only be done by metallica. wether you like the result or not imo this is art, this is concept, for me its as fresh as i could expect in the music & arts given what the social masses are FED day after day !. i leave it with the Gift from the velvet underground.
