Who moves threads to "other"

Its annoying now.

I understand that if something may be a little off topic then it needs moving, but if your going to do it then at least do it properly and go through every single page and remove anything and everything thats not about BoP.

I think you'll find it'll turn into a pretty desolate place.

The community here is small enough, and theirs only so much BoP we can talk about.

If a thread that flylion creates about flying physics in another game gets removed then i think its only fair to remove the thread i started called "IL2 FLIES AGAIN"

Since... well it has nothing to do with 1C or BoP...

I admit I thought the same thing. In forum theory its the right thing for a Mod to do, but the problem is how this BoP forum is just a sub forum itself with it's own sub community. Putting our off topic threads into the main forum's off topic sub forum basically takes it out of our communities area. We have suvived this long without needing our own sub-sub forum for our own off topics (like the Cliffs of Dover sub forum has been organised) and without a problem, so I think its best we just keep off topics in with the on topics.

Maybe an {Off topic} label could be just be added in the title of any thread the mod feels is not relavent to Il-2 Birds of Prey. Thanks.

I agree w Foz and Pope. It's not like this forum is way over crowded or anything, why make the community even smaller?

My guess would be other mods and I.

I had moved two identical threads to other topics after I asked him to not make a duplicate thread. I don't know who moved the Battlefield 3 thread.

If a thread is on the main page and doesn't relate to BOP I will remove it if the thread dies out and no one posts. I think everyone here logs in enough to keep it alive if they wish. If another mod moves something then he is just going by forum rules. I agree the community is small and niche but rules are rules if someone doesn't think it belongs then it will be moved. Sorry but I won't ask other mods not to move a unrelated topic.

I usually leave threads alone but if the discussion dies down I move them.

If someone comes here and posts a question of another game I will leave it alone, and if it gets answered I then get rid of it. So I think I give a little more leeway then others even though I'm actually not supposed to.

So I think I do a pretty good job of keeping things tidy.

Its funny you bring that up. A long time ago I stickied a thread Non BOP MISC.VIDEOS and Links.. for videos to be added there to keep everything in one thread for easy access later and even that doesn't get followed.


That way the main page would be more BOP related.


Wouldn't it be better that if someone finds a game that is coming out that it gets placed in a "Other games" thread so everything is kept in one place? I don't have a problem with that, and it would be easier to find stuff.

What if another game came out and everyone liked it better? Would you flock to the other forum, or do you think 1C would like everyone to be talking about another game other than BOP?
