Prefered the cockpit and landscape in the previous beta patch. Also my HAT switch has stopped working with the new patch. I have to admit I installed the patch on top of the previous beta patch, maybe I should go for a full reinstall...

Like the new colours in the 109 cockpit, but think the ground colours were better in the previous patch.

Hi luthier.
I ran Black Death before and after this patch, along with free flight over Dover and London, and found the following: - BD ran with a slightly higher average frame rate, despite explosions being more resource hungry. Cloud no longer renders in front of propeller. Less of a difference in average frame rate between first and subsequent runs (improved caching?). Definite improvement in sound quality and timing. - Larger performance hit when igniting fuel depot in Dover, but better frame rate once the depot is burning. Cockpit shadows and shadows in general seem more defined. Terrain colours/lighting appear more natural, but cockpit appears a bit over-saturated (default time of day). Sun is truly blinding, as I guess it should be. - London runs at a higher frame rate, and is in general a smoother experience. ‘Popping’ of building textures seems unchanged. On this note, as others have suggested, is it not possible to change the default colour of un-textured buildings to grey instead of brown – I think that this would make them a lot less obvious when not using the ‘unlimited’ setting. General: those blue lines on the horizon are back, and although not as obvious as they were previously, are still a huge disappointment. New music is a nice touch. Salute!

FPS are up for me, just flying the single sightseeing missions and alot smoother especially over London, now only get the the odd stutter , this is the best patch for perfomance so far for me.
The new cockpit colours are not as good as the last patch , better countryside though if only seems to be a little washed out. SYStem spec: single GEFORCE 560 driver version 8.17.12.7048, intell 3.0 ghz Q9650 quad core proccessor, win vista 64bit up to date , 8gb corsair RAM, Asus P5N-D Mother Board, using on board sound card. All graphic options set to Medium, shadows on , roads on, grass off, running at 1260x 980 psuedo Mode, no AA. Last edited by Bungmiester; 10-06-2011 at 10:04 PM. |

First impressions:
1. I like the improved colours and the revised Haze settings. Not too hazy close too, hazes up nicely with distance. 2. Dots appear to have been sorted out (I don't mean phantoms). Now getting dots that reduce in size and contrast with range instead of on/off. 3. I like the sharper/cleaner cockpit graphics (only been in the Hurricane) 4. Hurricane gunsight better, not glaring now and is sharper and ranging now seems correct. 5. Hurricane boost override now seems to work. 6. Maybe my imagination but the Hurricane seems to fly more sweetly - was something changed? 7. As in the first beta release, the sounds are much improved. 8. Online interface improved. Don't much like the sharp flat cracking sounds that seem to come from the airframe or the ones from the misfiring engine but wouldn't want dev time wasted on it.
