Hi folks,
yesterday I set up my first dedicated server (the FJG one) and so far its running and I can even join ![]() Now i'm looking for some stuff for administrating the server. I would like to know if there's some further explanation to the commands I can write into the server window like missLoad and so on. I would like to see whos flying which plane and what ping the clients have. Is there a way to see this from console? Next thing is that on the airfield my planes always spawn inside those ugly bowers where they explode as soon as I the pilot makes a wrong movement. How can I modify the spawn places on the airfields? thanks in advance zwiebacksaege |

Hi bud.
When you're in the dedi server window type "?" or "help" (without the quotes) and it will show the list of commands. For a further explanation, type help before a particular command for instance "help kick" and it will show you the parameters/syntax for the kick command. (without the quotes) I don't know a way of showing ping unless in game though. But there may be a way. As far as seeing who's all connected type "host". As far as the airfield problem, that's trickier. It seems spline roads do not work with the dedicated server atm, and some times airfield spawn points (manually entered don't either), but what you'll want to do is add the airfield spawn points (from the FMB) it should be it's own object. Just make sure you use the branch command when connecting more spawn points to them. Again, this is hit or miss though atm. |

thanks for helping... i'll try this soon. what do you mean with airfield spawn points? the AI->airfield-object where you chose the airfield script? up to now i have one simple spawn point nearby each predefined airfeld and the game seems to recognize that it should use the prenumbered places one can see on the map.

If you created a spawn area, acivate this by clicking, press CTRL right click on again to place a runway. To this runway you create spawnpoints with CTRL-B. Oder du schaust in unser Forum, Culli hat dazu mal ein Tutorial gemacht.
For the Norwegian plane hangers - 109 fits into them, but nothing else, same with small airplane camos - you can block them, by just placing a static object on the spawnpoint, it won´t be used anymore. But now, your planes will spawn somewhere in the woods, if they run out of spawnpoints.

seems that i'm not really understanding the builder...
so I created an airfield over the pre-existing one on the map. then I added airfield-points to it. When creating a spawn area now near it, the points arent used until I create a runway to the airfield. But those yellow markers appearing on the landscape ground are not very pretty and I can't move or rotate them. ![]() @snafu: when I create a spawn area and ctrl-rightclick it is deleted. maybe we misunderstand. I also can't create runways to spawn areas. I can only create runways with ctrl-B when i created an airfield before. I couldn't find the tutorial in your forum. Only the Liegeplatz-example. But this is not helpful so far. ![]() greetings zwiebacksaege |

Yes, spawnpoints and runways are related to an Airfield object, not a SpawnPlace/Area object.
You can rotate a runway and its yellow signs via numpad keys as other objects. To place spawnpoints correctly assign a Branch key in Game Controls Settings in Builder section. Place your SpawnArea object closer to your new airfield object than to the original one to make planes use the new spawnpoints. If you do not place any spawnpoints on a new airfield the planes are spawn on its external circle if a runway exists on the airfield OR on internal circle if a runway does not exist on the new airfield. Circles radius can be edited in FMB or even further in notepad to match the available area. It is easier to check out others' missions to see how this is done (e.g. try 2 stillborn's missions). Very nice... That's a describtion i can work with. But it seemed to me as if the yellow marks on the ground dont care about how i rotate the runway. But i will test more.
Thanks a lot for the help. |
