Default Possible new haze/lighting WIP pictures *15MB of images*

Gday guys, I just stumbled across a recently-posted interesting set of images over at the Russian www.sukhoi.ru forum where some of the Russian devs post regularly. It looks like the lighting and haze effect is getting tweaked abit, although I haven't put alot of time in with the beta patch yet so I can't comment on the differences as much. It does appear that the haze was reduced somewhat.

The image set shows the same setting at different times of the day. I have turned these image sets into animated gifs so you can see the differences between times a little easier. Please be aware that these are gif files so the image quality is reduced a little. I have also attached a zip file containing the original image sets that were posted.

If you are feeling adventurous you can also find the original images in this thread here: http://www.sukhoi.ru/forum/showthrea...=1#post1688854

Thanks to naryv for posting them. If any of our english-speaking Russian friends here know the full story behind these images please let us know. I'm only going off a very rough google-translation.

This was to illustrate how haze is changing with time of day. The pictures are from current beta and they are working to improve it based on feedback they are getting on the beta.

The pics also show the problem I have - discoloured tactical codes on the german aircraft. Look how "washed out" the black of the L1 + ON looks.

its called precomputed atmoshperic scattering. And thus it is dynamic and im sure it is procedural based.

Add that there might be some tweaking needed regarding the new "milkyness" of glass parts. Can be seen on the He111 especially.
