New patch should come with a INCONTINENCE WARNING judging by the number of guys wetting themselves.

I love the bipolar, high-strung attitude of some people here. Everyone gets so excited (OMG you guys rock, best news ever!!!) and then so bummed (buggiest game ever, the sky is falling down, this game is doomed).

Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for the dev's hard work and I'm looking forward to the patch but some of you guys need to calm down, you act like the patch is going to fix everything and then a few hours after release you are on the forums complaining about bugs/features because you expected too much.

You guys need to be more realistic, it's complex software, things will go wrong, new bugs will appear etc. Just bear that in mind when the patch comes out and you won't get a shock if something else breaks. Also don't forget it's BETA.

Cheers!
When inside the plane the shadows seem to still be flickering. Outside the plane they never did flicker...me thinks

have to wait there until release, to see exactly what is going on there though...

flickery cockpit shadow edges seems to be a DX/ AA thing, as the shadow edges creepy crawl in other sims too.

Even duct tape can't fix stupid... but it can muffle the sound.

Did you all miss the changes that the 22mb download just delivered ???

Ok so I have been up for about 36 hours playing IL@COD and working on a new Dynamic AI Air & Ground units campaign setup that is smaller and faster for servers online.

http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=25707

BUUUT!!!

As soon as I saw the download happening. I deleted my Cache files, Deleted my config files and then went into my properties on Steam and checked th cloud ini file thing and did a data file validation. All was good no changes there.

Loaded IL2, set options to FULL Graphics and 8xaa and sson on (whatever) and ran 30 seconds of single mission over english coast. Both in cockpit and outside.

yes flickering and crap. But the speed of looking around the cockpit and the visual inside cockpit was smoother and WAY FASTER.

So I think the 22mb download was a little fix to DX and AA maybe..

Anyway a noticible improvement in smoothness from what was already good on my rig.

No, he's 100% right!

I clean cache every new patch. Do the same now. HUGE performance increase.

Again...

HUGE performance increase, really amazing! I launch the quick mission over London, all highest, even SSAO, but without native FSAA (still don't working right) and Land Detail on "medium" No stutters bigger than tiny ones in knows streaming spots, no more crazy highres textures stopping fluid gameplay! Really great! Maybe here I noticed more gains in performance than Wolf because my rig is much more modest.

And after I launch my "test mission" over Dover! I was much more happy! The anoying stutters when you start engaging big bombers formations are almost gone! I'm uploading a video now, really big gains in performance, and I can't say it's "placebo" or just cache cleaning... Something BIG change in this "shadow" tiny patch!

And I'm VERY HAPPY!

Sorry, but I have to ask since I just don't know.

The patch will be a beta. Will this be downloaded automatically via steam or will it have to be installed manually via a download link?

Never used a beta patch before. Thanks for any answers in advance.

And of course the sounds in the vid are awesome. All in all I really like what I am seeing there.

I cleared the cache etc. and got a performance boost. Not huge, but noticable.
