Exclamation PS3 Secret Menu

A couple of questions...need suggestions please!!!!

1) If I Rebuild Database, will it delete all saved game files? If yes...can I save game files prior to rebuild to re-install after rebuild...Please explain process

2 What is the "Restore File System" in the menu...what's the purpose???

Thanks in advance guys!!!!

Note: Is Rebuild Database same as "Format Utility" on System Settings and the only save feature that I see is to transfer data to another PS3 console....Data Sticks option?

Now I'm not sure about the "Rebuild Database" question, but I do know that if you save your game data to a thumb drive, you can re-install it if you lose it off of your HD. I tell my friends all the time to periodically save all their game data to thumb drives in the event something happens to their system and they have to re-format or just plain lose it. As long as the HD is the same one that you saved it from, there should be no issues with uploading the saves back onto your system.

I rebuilt mine without backing up anything its more a defrag than anything you will have to reinstall the iPlayer ect ect.

It certainly made my system faster.

Format utility will wipe everything and will leave you're drive empty and ready to go, almost the same as a return to factory settings.
