I used to have a Gretsch kit back in the 80's, a wonderful kit, I really regret selling it now. Im currently playing a Mapex Orion with a 24inch Bass drum. I used to be endorsed by Pearl and zildjian, and had a maple custom that was a nice sounding kit.

the pearl always had good snares
i prefer the smaller bass drums..at about 20'' is right to me
also the last two years i experiment with
instanbul cymbals

i've got a china 20'' and is very very good
