I am afraid even Oleg doesnt know specs yet, otherwise he would have said something already... To know the specs SOW needs to be assembled 100% and all the gizmos turned on.. When it gets to that point, i am sure we will all know what does it take to run it.

I put my present gaming computer together in early Spring 2006, when it became apparent that my 4 y/o P4 2.4Ghz that had soldiered on with IL2FB was now straining under the new release IL2-1946.

The new rig was still a budget rig, with no intentions of requiring it to meet the needs of the SOW series. I expect that i'll need to replace my rig entirely a year or so after SOW:BoB is released - until then, i'll continue playing the IL2-1946 sim. I simply can't afford to, nor justify replacing my primary gaming computer until 3-4 years has passed, so i'll have to sit SOW out until then.

The present gaming rig (only used for 1946, really).

Pentium 4 - C2D E6300 - Intel 965 mobo
2 GB DC Ram
NVidia PNY 7600GS 512mb PCI-E video
Dual 19" BenQ LCD panels
X52 Hotas and pedals
Nostromo N52 gamepad
TrackIR3
Full simpit

.. and not a lick of personal flight talent to hit the broad-side of a barn with bullets or airplane after 4+ years. Go figure.

As others have said, I hope BoB will be as adjustable as IL2 has remained throughout. I'm still running perfect settings and getting good on-line play - but I won't be able to afford a major up-grade for quite a few years.

Hopefully Excellent setting, or its equivalent, will still offer the opportunity to enjoy the up-coming game.

Default Brandon...

Looks like you have a top shelf PC! From my experience and the rigs of my friends your specs seem to have the best chance of not needing an upgrade IF BOB SOW is ever released.

One observation is that although I have the fastest LCD available, these new LCD's cant present a fluid game like CRT's can. No one sells CRT's anymore as they are not as fashionable , albeit much bulkier. For gaming the best LCD is not as fluid and pleasurable as a good CRT. I miss my CRT!

The LCDs for flight combat sims are the weak point. Only when one compares them side by side will you notice the significant difference. I owned and flew a good high refresh rate CRT for years, and I still miss it for smooth fluid solid looking moving objects.

For example, and object whizzing by on a good CRT appears solid and well focused, it just moves quickly. On a LCD it is fuzzy, does not appear sharp, it appears fuzzy and not in focus.

LCD's ghost period, the degree toi which ghosting appears depends on speed of movement. In the slow moving games one might not notice, but it is indeed there. In IL-2 I notice it everywhere and all the time. My friends who have never gamed on a CRT don't know what they're missing. I miss my CRT!

My two cents. See you in UBI !!
