well if you only load those two types, they should alternate,..meaning every second bullet will be a tracer.
but you will not be able to use the loadout in those default quick missions!!!
you have to make your own mission and load you plane with that ammo!

No but you can use it online if you save it via the loadout screen? Bit harder to tell with Axis planes but the Allied plane loadout are working for me if I change them online

i think it works online!will try it out.
but to be 100% certain, load only beobachtung bullets, when you are online, this way you will know, because they dont have a leuchtspur(tracer).so if you fire your guns you will see nothing, except when you hit something.in that case there should appear flashes on the target!

I found they are effective against buildings and Blenheim fuel tanks (few rounds in the wing root and the whole plane disappears in a fire ball), but rather ineffective against Hurricane and Spit. So I switched back to a more armor piercing mixture of beobachtung and full-metall-jacket to get through the pilot armor plating.

it works online!just tried it!
@ snafu:i experience especially with hurris that they go into big fireballs as well.spits not so much, but they are left with detached elevators and ailerons, and big holes in the wings looking like emmentaler.

Well, maybe. I do not fly E1 online, just E3 to get used to the cannons, so maybe with E1 is more effective against fighters, what I would suppose.

I picture for myself to first pierce the fuel tanks of the Hurrice (which was prone to catch fire in the gravity tank infront of the pilot) with armor piercing rounds, and then ignite them with the "Beobachtungs" rounds, but I guess that is just my imagination...

I tried it online. I shot down one hurricane. It didn't blow up, didn't fall apart, but the ammo strong - Onto at least so much, than the average ammo.

The beobachtung (B-geschoss, observer, ect) ammo has bright flash, and huge smoke, but nothing else. Only are pyrotechnical ammo. (The same caliber (7.92mm) was used against soldiers by snipers, it causes ugly injuries, but it useless against metal aircrafts). So, its a bug imo.

It i don't know, that the self destruction was forgotten (that work properly at the MG-FF), or it was not used at 7.92 mm ammo.
