Default No video sound only on single player on COD 7-19-11 release game

Hope you get a rely on this one.... haveing the same problem with basically the same PC specs except I'm running win 7 64bit system. I've tried multiple re installs from disk, reloaded win.net and directx11, down loaded the lastest Nvidia drives, lowered the video options specs to the lowest settings and change the resolution on my monitor still a "NO GO". I've upgraded my PC a few months ago just to play the Silent Hunter V and I'm not buying a super system to run this game I'll just eat the COD game cost or wait for a patch. I've down loaded the last patch/mod V 4.10 for IL-2 with the new maps and flyable aircraft this will do for now. Hope they get this game playable on systems most folks having trouble (most meet or exceed IC PC specs) not every body can own a NASA super computer.......................

it is a sony all-in-one desktop, which has some similar specs to laptop... i have updated drivers, yes. they should be reflected in the dxdiag.

This is a known problem and there's a simple solution that I don't remember.
But search the forum or wait for someone who knows.

Sounds similar to my problem...

I just received, and installed IL-2 Cliffs of Dover, via Steam. Each time I attempt to start the sim, it works great until I actually go to fly (i.e. all menus work fine, but the gameplay screen doesn't). When I click to "fly", the screen minimizes, the mouse cursor disappears, and all I get are the game's sounds. Joystick buttons seem to work, but all I'm seeing is my computer's desktop. Using alt-x to exit, I then receive notice that states:
"Display Driver has stopped responding and has recovered. Display driver NVLDDMKM has stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

My system is a PC, Core 2 Quad 2.83Ghz (Q9550) with 4 Gb of RAM. My video card is an NVidia GeForce 9500GT w/1 Gb, and my sound card is a Creative Labs SB X-FI.

I've tried reducing the graphics settings, without any change in the situation. I've updated my video driver files, again, with no change. Steam is running in all cases. I disabled full-screen mode, and now I get a black screen when going to fly.

Any ideas you can send me would be greatly appreciated.

Ed

From the threads I linked to:

- Try disable AVG
- Change DirectX version in the conf.ini

I reverted back to DirectX 9 and presto, I can see the cockpit now! Thanks a million! I still have to fly with all the graphics set to low (that'd be my GeForce 9500GT card, tho, not the sim). It's a huge step in the right direction, tho!
