This is why CoD is just the perfect partner for our beloved Logitech G940

well, not really..

because, their trees are made using the speedtree library. a poor implementation might have left some tree sound triggers into the models / code, therefore overhelming the sound system with (empty) tree object sound calls..

But this soundproblem comes into play with last patch, there is hope we get better performance with new sounds because there is something really weird in sounds now.

It was there prior to the last patch for me and many others.

Ive also found that sometimes sound will still cut off in 3rd person view.. But by zooming in the camra closer to the plane the sounds will come back.

This makes sense. I've always flown with trees off and have never had any problems. I suspected it might be DX9 (since I had that instead of DX10), but there you go.

Another vote for stickying this!

I though I posted this quote before, maybe I didn't hit the send key...anyway

This may be a feature to make it much harder for people to hear aircraft approaching their six.

I've been running without trees for ages* and I still get the sound cutting out.

* And not for any nefarious reasons; they're just a flickering ugly mess at the moment.
