Default Simple scenario.. see where we all stand haha

Your a great pilot, you somehow have all the required skills needed to fly any aircraft.

With these new skills your put to the test.

Your put on a disused airfield....

To your left - A Supermarine Spitfire MkI

To your right - A Messerschmitt ME109E

In the centre - A Hawker Hurricane MkI

Your then told with your new skills to take one up and dogfight against any 1 of the other 2 that you declined to take.

Which would you take and why?

To start the ball rolling....

I'd take the Hawker Hurricane.

Its a more stable gun platform

It can out turn both the Spitfire and the 109

It can take considerably more damage and remain airworthy than the other two

Its far more forgiving than the Spit and 109

Its beautiful!!

This is the WWII Aviation equevalent of Christianity/Islam/Judaism..

Spitfire, every time. (Can I have a late Mk I please?)

There are plenty of reasons performance wise, but truthfully, if the question was just those 3 and you get to fly 1 only,no combat, it'd be the Spit.

It is to me what the Hurricane is to Foz. A beauty.

I'd rather die in a Spitfire.

A later MkI is fine haha, i was quietly taking a later Mk Hurricane anyway... the old wooden prob in the early models just doesnt do it for me.

Yeah, You've got to give the Hurricane its MkII version to equal the production date. Personaly I'd like to see what kind of damage a Hurricane MkIIC 's cannons could do to an Emil.

hmmmm interesting question. I would go with the spit. i want the fastest plane, the one with the best rate of climb and/or dive, one with the best visibility for the pilot, and good armament. it will all be about the bounce....who sees who first and has the speed and altitude to make it work for you. you are not going to be getting into much of a turning battle and will only have a minute or 2 of ammo. if bounced the spit has the balls to climb away from either plane and turn the battle.
