The Thrustmaster Hotas is working fine but on the controller settings it shows a gamepad and the instructors commands show up as being a game pad!I can do the movements, but the game thinks I'm using a game pad.I have the Hotas on single player Thrustmaster setting 2.Will appreciate a little help please.

I have the Immediate control picture and set up,but the game shows a game pad in control settings.I have the settings on 2,with no vibration.I need to get rid of the game pad as the instructor keeps repeating the commands, and I do them but it is showing a game pad on the screen. So I have to repeat them, with no passing the tutorial!
I have found out,you don't want the reset or mapping button lit,or the flight model goes wacky.I'll figure it out,but I can't get past the tutorial with the game thinking I'm using a game pad.

The instructor will always refer to the gamepad layout so don't use the button he tells you to use. The key is knowing which button on your Thrustmaster corresponds to the command the instructor gives you. It's confusing but if you stick with it it'll come to you.

Edit: Did you turn off your dualshock controller?

On the loop command,I pull the stick straight back and put the throttle thru the stop....as in WEP but he keeps making me do it.I'm doing a perfect loop, but can't get past that point.I'm an old flight sim person Air Warrior,War Birds,,Fighter Ace,and Aces High.I'm giving Aces High a break,as I have always liked the IL2 series.Thank you so much for your help.I will keep at it until I get it down.I have read several blogs about the negative part of Il2 Birds of Prey, and getting thru the tutorials is a high frustration point with many complaints.Again thank you for all the help.I always tried to help "Newbs" trying to learn AW,WB's,etc.

I got it figured out.Stick is now tuned up....No twisty rudder, use rocker on throttle.got most the buttons figured out,and I'm having a lot of fun.As I get a little more time I will up the skill level.I have a full set of CH Products for P.C.,but I won't be going back to Aces High any time soon.I also bought Apache Air Assault, but I will get more proficient at B.O.P. before starting to play it.That being said,I will never buy another Activision game! They have no help or customer support! Thanks for the help, and now back to the game!

One of the problems I experienced was after being shot down or crashing. When prompted to press "X" to continue I was somehow prevented from doing such. The "X" button is on the throttle controller but would not be read by my PS3. Finally, I discovered that if I had to have the throttle in the upright (90%) position It would register. I do not know if you have run across this but it frustrated me some what. I was also using a Custom set up for my controller.

Thanks!Yes I think I ran into that once. The other thing I don't Like about the Thrustmaster throttle is that isn't smooth,as I'm use to my CH Products throttle.I don't care as this game is simply fun for me.I can't figure out how to get flaps working but withe rocker, the planes turn very well.I know I should up the level soon, but I need a little more stick time to get used to the game.Sure glad I purchased it with the Hotas.I was sad when my CH Products wouldn't work with PS3!They are missing sales by not making their products usable for console games. The P.C. is slowly going under for gamers.
