I have Clod working.I have FaceTrack working(I think. It shows me in the test window).
How do I get FaceTrack to integrate into Clod? The only way I can look around is in pan/snap view using the hat switch or F10 and use the mouse. |

Well I dont have it, but it has IL2 1946 listed as compatible - using the "fake TrackIR game protocol" make sure this is running (?) and make sure you are running the latest version are you running the latest version (1.40?). Also are you sure its active (ie not just in test mode or something)?
EDIT By the way, how does it compare to FreeTrack? I have tried NoIR but I don't think it woked out too well at the time. Last edited by fireship4; 06-02-2011 at 02:19 PM. |

I am running FaceTrack v 1.5.
What profile should I use? |

I've used the Fake TrackIR-profile. It sort of works on my rig, but not very well. Could be my camera (Creative Live! Optia Pro VF0380), my light-conditions or my FaceTrackNoIR-settings. I spent quite some time with it, but my results are mixed. So... it's back to my trusty old TrackIR for now.

Fake TrackIR is the game protocol. In version 1.5 you have some preset ini profiles to choose.I tried Over Flanders Fields thinking it would be similar.
After poking around some more when I click on settings for faceapi it just says initializing under engine state. I am using the PS3 Eye,W7 x64 FaceTrackNoIR V 1.5. |

I've just tried it with a Logitech C270 webcam. It seems to 'almost' work, but crashes CloD -there are known issues with i5/i7 CPUs, which should be fixed in the next patch. I'll carry on testing, to see if I can get this version (1.5) working.
Ho hum... It seems to work better with the 1.3 version, though I've had this crash too. Doh! Am I an eejit or what? Setting FaceTrackNoIR to use the same keys to start/stop that CloD uses to exit the game is bound to cause problems. ![]() ![]() This needs further looking into, but I'm optimistic... If you have a kinect device it looks like you'll have a TrackIR substitute more sooner or than later:

TrackIR is still the best way to go, or something like this FaceTrackNoIR for those on a budget. Look at the lag response for when the guy moves his head in the video to when it reacts on-screen. It might be a consequence of too much smoothing but I'm thinking all the processing the Kinect has to do to figure out where your head is, when it's moving and translating that into accurate and responsive tracking is a bit beyond the device. Just to confirm that FaceTrackNoIR version 1.3 seems to work with CloD and a with a Logitech C270 webcam on my PC, though 1.5 doesn't. Hopefully the next version will have sorted the problems. I'm still experimenting with the profile, but when I get it sorted I'll post it here.
I'm not used to head-tracking, and am finding the whole thing a little difficult to get used to - the landscape seems to bounce up and down! |
