I seem to remeber someone posting what looked like a photo of BoP being played on a tweaked TV. The brightness and contrast had been turned way up and it made the enemy A/C very visible, very.

Funnily enough at the time nobody really picked up on it...

It was last year but I can't remember who posted it.

EDIT : Found it,

http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showpos...44&postcount=2

I dunno if it's real or photoshopped though.

That was a joke post using photoshop. If you turn up your brightness to see through blackouts/dark terrain, then surely when you follow an enemy skyward you will have the opposite effect, and have whiteout.

Cool, I just remembered the pic more than the context.

the best ways to see others while blackouting:

1-practice
2- go in training mode, cockpit view only, hud totally disabled, sim mode, dark map,10 ennemy pilots veterans, and train to see them ,u can add no map..it is very hard but good to train.

blackoutsand redouts should be as i believe pope mentioned..more of a tunnel vision...darker around the edge and progressively lighter towards the middle. not a complete blackwash like it is here. that is the way it was in another game i used to play and worked well. the difference between turning up the brightness of the tv and setting the sensitivities is in a real plane you CAN adjust trim and such to give you more control. you cannot do anything about blackout save for a g-suit...which reminded me i would like that as an unlock in BoS. but conversely, as for shaking a finger at someone for turning the brightness to gain unfair advantage on the claim it wasnt in real life....in real life they didnt have a zoom feature either to help identify ac or see what direction it is breaking to. and how many of us use that?? you can argue that eveyone has that feature so the playing field is level...everyone has a brightness button too. i know players whose advice to getting more kills was to hit zoom to aim and shoot. i will fly how it suits me. i have no control over how others set things up to suit their taste. if i have issues with them...i just wont fly with them.

Please note this---- I am the player responsible for JRHOODY sharing some information with everyone about help in Sim.....If you want to address your gripe then this should be aimed at me.

Firstly.....please read the Thread Header again..."how to see other's while blacking out "....read it again....?? Yes, setting's or not you still black out in the turn....you just make out what is going on around you clearer.

First please only use kind and considerate words toward my friend JRHOODY...he is a well respected player and forum member and i will not accept anything else. Mr Robotic Pope...I am only junior to your status as a respected expereinced player and senior forum member and your choice of script agreeable or not I still respect your views without challenge. But do not ever use the word "cheat" and my friend JRHOODY in the same sentence. Afford him the respect others pay you.

Second Sim is hard....I once posted my first funny view on Sim, and it was soon clear that this is where the real challenge lay. Arcade Lobbie's are a plenty...Realistic Lobbie's are more frequent now....Sim Lobbie's not so.

What JRHOODY did last night was offer to take me to one side....offer some hint's and tip's on setting of PS3 pad / Aircraft / TV settings. He did this for two hours of his own time and his only reward was maybe getting one more player into Sim that would otherwise feel reluctant. I would suspect that the outrage this has caused by going "public" on the Tv issue now tells me a lot more than I realised.

I have been offered help before...Yuma....No2 in Arcade Dogfight, a Great Great worthy Advisary and friend sent me some Custom setting for Spitfire's. Did it help me get into the top 50...yes....can I beat Yuma...Sanibelfram...Meoestro ..Mav...Ruffmonk....geckogeek....sweet mistic....FrogSaunders.....no i cant...but we have great memorable battles me trying and I think they appreciate a better opponent.

Scottyvt4 was instumental in being my Guide in stepping up into Realistic...taught me setting's, where to aim, how to catch the stall and many other thing's...was his advice a threat to anyone ? No I dont think so, but I play Realistic to a standard where I can offer an opponent a worthy challenge...but can I beat Mav...Rattman...Viper-ss...FOCK1T....Beanzie...JEOD....MonsterHQ...bousa t....piednoir...IKKURINA....Lebrave...WalterNovotn y...and the other great player...no I cant but I became a better opponent for being there thanks to Scottyvt4.

Now JRHOODY is helping me into Sim...how about busy Sim Lobbies with a lot of newer player's....that what my friend want's to achieve or at least try...

So with my Custom Tv and PS3 pad setting will I now go into Sim with an easier introduction...yes....am i encouraged to try Sim...yes....am I going to be a Killer overnight...NO...no setting will ever get me near the skill's from Olife-....McQ59...Kavorland...Walter....JR...MACADEMIC.. ...themeistor.....vdomini....But I do want to be in the game at least to witness them and learn to be a better opponent.

If I am ever in a Sim lobby and you object to me being in the game...send me a message and I will bow out not a word said. If you let me stay then allow me to learn from you....setting's or not...Skill is Skill and Good Sim players have it and allow me to be a worthy opponent.

So my friend JRHOODY.....thank you for trying to bring more into the Game

A few interresting points in this discussion...
Been following this forum a lot in quiet for a long time, more often than I've been playing the game.

I wan't to play sim, only. But it is hard.
It's been amazing to see the skills of the aces on the recent sim games I've joined.
The other night I experienced the best so far.
A series of FW190's vs P51's and it was great.
A couple of nights ago I hoped to follow up on that... but what a disaster.
Last efforts were 1vs1 aganist KAV. Must have bored him to death with my skills

The longevity of BoP is fantastic. And as of late it even seems to grow.
I wan't to be better. To be a worthy teamplayer, a better opponent.
Because that's when BoP is thrilling.

But seems the learning curve took another steep climb.
I'm willing to learn everything there is to know, within the limits and borders intended in creating BoP.
So if someone is willing to share, just do it
Maybe a thread in the form of Q&A??

Thank you, now I'll wipe the sweat of my hands and pad get up there for more beating
