I'd love to see some of the Flying Tigers campaign in China. Dunno if that's likely though.

The name's gonna stick.

P.S.: What do you make of the logo? I love it

Well with the naval aspect the Steel works nice as well
The logo is great would make a cool hat crest or other

the release date puzzles me a little. they must have a lot to work out because you would think they would want a christmas release. but is that a brewster buffalo in one of the screen shots??? this had the potential to be VERY interesting!

I'm sure if they could they would release it prior Christmas. Developments run on tight budgets and schedules, both are often exceeded without any external circumstances. In the case of this development I could imagine that circumstances played a big role, first the earthquake in Japan (Konami is a Japanese company), then the PSN shutdown which Anton confirmed had a big impact. So there you go.

BTW this is sad news as well as they dropped the IL2 sturmovik name. im guessing there was some legal issue.

Perhaps losing the Il2 name will be a blessing. We are already shunned by the Il2 PC community as being not simulatory enough, and not a true Il2 game. The Il2 name is not really recognized in the console world so this may actually help us draw in more new players. We still benefit from the Il2 programming heritage of course. It could be a win /win.

It would be cool if they introduced an ongoing ranking system, sorta like Battlefield Bad Co where your kills and overall performance gives you an ongoing upward rank that you can continually try to improve. Maybe unlock some new things at certain levels.

Publishers generally don't like you using their trademarks when you don't work for them anymore.

Huh? As far as I know Gaijin is still with 1c. So they could use the Il2 name if they wanted, I think they (and konami) have just chosen not to. Even the new PC game Cliffs of dover was originaly not going to have the IL-2 name, it was ubisoft that wanted it again, most people prefered the -Storm of War- title.

When a large part of the game will be focusing on the pacific its a bit weird to have a irrelevant plane in your title anyway.
