Do positive reviews magically solve the bugs and performance issues? If so, i anxiously wait for a glowing one too!

I will simplify my sentence just for you so you can fully understand the simple ideas i was stating..

My sentence consisted of three main parts!

A/ PC PILOT Complained that due to editorial deadlines, they didn't have time to do a proper review.

B/ I explained that the game (CLOD!) had took 6 long years to develop..during that time any pc fsim mag worth its salt would eagerly have followed it progress..so they would anticipate its arrival and be ready to offer a review forthwith without delay for all its eager customers who also would be waiting and expecting a review! ..

C/ And I then stated in real terms the game has already been out for ages!..ie WEEKS!..certainly thats long enough for any so called cutting edge reputable fsim mag to have conducted a thorough review!..after all they managed a preview!..surely an extra few days would have given them enough material to include a review!

Instead they chose to offer a lame excuse and just post pretty pictures in a double spread preview...

So why do you harp on about ''did the game get released early or late?''...you are a very confused person!..

Go and re-read my sentence and try your best to think next time before you just try and be a cynical immature knob!
And guess which guy in this thread has never worked in publishing?

Editorial deadlines are far from some sort of BS excuse, and I really doubt that that mag has a large staff. So if editorial deadlines are something that means reviews/articles don't make it in major gaming publications (like edge), and are something that commonly affects other publications, then why do you think some small, niche publication with a small staff is immune to these issues?

Annnnndddddd that before getting into the problems with "review" copies

You mix some real fact with some pure conjecture on your part (unless you actually work in that mag's offices and have inside information) and then add some personal attack for good measure to top it all off because i dared disagree with you, nice going.
Your reply confirms my initial feelings to the fullest, thank you for trying in such a mature way yourself.

You seem to be a very similar kind of person to the fanboys you do forum battle against, but then again my opinion on other people is not formulated by their opinion but by the way they try to argue it. If one has trouble accepting different opinions and starts hurling insults at the slightest hint of disagreement that's what i group them up according to. So, fanboys and whiners are actually the same kind of people with different opinions, isn't it funny? "You are what you hate" and all that jazz. Long story short, nice twist you got on your panties there

Everyone knows there are problems with this sim. We can either accept reality is the way it is and do the best we can under the circumstances to improve what we can, or cry about stuff we can't change. That doesn't mean we won't talk about what's wrong with the game, what it means is that we should stop crying and start talking and you sir, are squarely in the crying category for the time being. Have a nice day, if you can allow yourself the extravagant pleasure of chilling out a bit while there are people of different opinions on the internet

In the six years I've been reading PC Pilot, I've never seen one single review that was even CLOSE to being negative. The only one I can remember which was borderline was Zenertek's Night Environment for MS FS. PC Pilot had the exclusive interview for MS's Flight (which still boggles my mind) this past bi-month edition. I have yet to see a well-balanced review by them yet and don't even get me started on the article "The best hardware to run FSX on" back in 2006/07.

PC Pilot is a "pretty" magazine and every once in a while I find something useful in it (other than what I can find at avsim.com, flightsim.com, simviation.com or simhq.com). But for the most part, it's fluff for someone just strolling along the magazine aisle at Barnes & Noble or any other bookstore.

Having never read or seen the magazine before, and having worked as a games reviewer, I take the 'preview' page as, here's teaser of what the game is like, and whilst at the moment, it has more bugs than Bombay market, it'll give devs the time to remove the major ones, so that we don't have to post a negative review that we'll then have to justify to ubisoft as to why they send us 'free' samples..

Personally, i'd never ever write up a review page, as all it does is create hype and increase perception that it must be a good product.. If a game gets released as buggy/unfinished, it should be scored as that, even if theres a 0 day patch... and i think thats part of the problem too.. far too easy to release rubbish then fix it up later, taking advantage of peoples good will to excuse rubbish being shipped..

oh BOLLOCKS.

If there wasn't time to do it properly, do it properly then put it in the next issue.

That is of course if he review isn't a paid advertisement and a deadline needed to be met....

This whole 'we were forced to do actionx because we ran out of time' is the most pathetic and disingenous excuse possible. It's no excuse and is indefensible and not justifiable. It's pathetic that this is not appreciated on its own merit.

I'm tired of the sheer dishonesty involved.

Do it right, Do it honestly, Do it with integrity, or Have the balls to admit you're not.

Wish I hadn't bothered posting this now. What the heck. Yeah, let's hope CoD gets sh*t reviews everywhere so no one will buy it and the game will then die. Then we'll all be happy. FFS
