rune out of reach

I am currently in Lucky James Mine and I came across a mind rune which is located behind some mushrooms - and I just can´t reach it. I had a similar problem earlier in the game. Is there a way to remotely get objects?

I've run into that a few times - not every game, but maybe every third or so. If it happens, I've never found a way to get to the item that's stuck behind the mushrooms. Oh well...
