ps why not contribute to Revi's amazing thread or did you really think we needed another thread like this? Hell you could have used to 100+ threads exactly like this one. Also if I wanted to discuss WOP I would be on their forum, not this one.
you don't agree ??? compare this with the blurry pail coastline of Dover .

come on ...still i believe this COD can be a good 1 but right now it feels i bought a car with 2 wheels .

no i don't want my money back and no i am not gonna uninstall it , i love my DF over water in COD but if i cant fly normal over land with my system specs i have all the right of the world to fantasize how the ultimate Sim would be .

Once again i don't like the arcade play of WOP but the environment looks 100 time,s beter .

With ALL ground objects out of scale? I don't think so...

When I can run CLOD with maxed settings with good FPS, WOP is no match. CLOD used real time light, shadow, shaders... We can't compare with WOP graphics, that are great, but it's another style.

Why did they put green sunglasses over the camera lens?

I know many people are impressed with WoP. For the life of me I cannot understand why.

The post process green haze in every clip I've ever seen of that arcade game.

And people think Cliffs of Dover's color palette is bad.

I love both WOP and COD. However I believe that COD looks and performs like pure crap even on high settings. Sorry if I offend your little hearts but that's what I think.
Flight model and damage model for IL2 COD are awesome but graphically speaking I have to convince myself to keep flying it. COD Is not worth the money in the state it has been released.

WOP is something like strike fighters 2, it has some simulation component but not as accurate as IL2 COD or 1946. Still sometimes graphics may look a bit unrealistic but from the performance and eye candy point of view WOP destroys IL2 COD.

And... I am a big fan of IL2 since it was released but I can't negate that WOP is a simulator with a lot of potential if there was a mission editor and FM, DM was improved it'd for sure be a good option.

Guys guys don't get me wrong ....WOP is Arcade and i am a big fan of COD .

its only the terrain what i really like in WOP . i never played this game ....perhaps it wasn't a good idea to make this tread in the first place .

its just i am a little frustrated about the playability of this game in high settings over terrain with buildings .
that's all .

i dont care about the color palletem the reality of graphics and bla bla bla.

FACT:

there no popping up houses in the WOP in CLOD its POPfest, houses POP, trees POP, planes POP POP-POP-POP. No mather what settings you use.

i jsut wish the pop issue would be gone. that is, in my opinion the worst part of COD graphics.

what do people see in WOP?

I think following:
1. Smooth plane movement, unlike in COD now lots of plane movements are very jerky. And sometimes you would see a flight of plane roll at the exact same moment and angle and speed.

2. Fancier-than-real-life graphics. I wanna ask you guys, why would u guys spend money going to a movie? yep, that's what wop delivers. I would put it this way, it is based off of real life, but dramatized a bit.

3. WOP gives me a sense of space. I can feel like I'm in a huge battle field, where as COD doesn't deliver that. Even though COD is more realistic, but still, that's why people go see movies.

I really like a point made by someone earlier, and actually i have thought about it for a long time, what if we have a game that has WOP's graphics and everything else from COD?? That would be the best of both world.

But as of now, WOP doesn't offer a realistic enough weapon system and flight model and damage model. So I still can't give up COD for WOP.

If you love WoP and use it as reference on ANYTHING combat sims you're not a simmer. Easy as that.
